Hey everyone! I have really been MIA for the last couple of days. I had a busy week .. well.. few days. But I think what’s contributed to the week feeling so busy is my brain. Which, has been clouded by total thought up stress.
Is It Just Me?
Is it just me or do you guys get anxiety about big task? Ok so a thing I am trying to get out of the habit of avoiding aka procrastination. I tend to avoid things that I think will be hard, which leads to me stressing because said task is not done, then getting stressed because im stressed. Its honestly a never ending cycle. What I have noticed is the things that I think will be super hard or really time consuming are usually the tasks that are the easiest. If you are dealing with the same thing I am going to share how I get through my procrastination.
Steps to avoid procrastination
Ok so I am going to give you some steps to help avoid avoiding tasks. Try saying that ten times. Alright, let’s get into it.
Step 1: Just do it. Yes, its that simple. But if you can’t just do it read step 2.
Step 2: Take a step back and really ask your self “is this task going to take longer than 2 minutes” if the answer is no then just get it done. If the answer is yes read step 3.
Step 3: Sit down, look at your calendar and find a day and time that you will get it done. I highly suggest you don’t set the day any more than 2 days away. Yes, this is a short time span but it needs to be. This will limit how much anxiety you have, it will stop you from making up wild scenarios in your head. Plus you will get it done.
