Perception

One of the most fascinating aspects about being human is our ability to perceive our surroundings. What’s even more interesting is the fact that two people will probably never have the same perception of the same exact scenario.

Our lived experiences heavily influence the way we perceive the world around us. How we interact with one another and how we view ourselves.

What I love even more about us humans is we have the ability to change the way we perceive the world. We have the option and the ability to retrain and rewire our brains to see what we want. This great ability does come with some risks. Due to our brains listening to what we tell it, it’s vital to fill our brain with positive and non-harmful ideas.

Recently I have been trying to stay away from social media because I realized a lot of what I was seeing was starting to influence my reality. I made the conscious effort to remove myself temporarily. Not completely but spending less time on the internet. By doing this I feel like my brain is opening up and receiving more satisfaction from simple things. Like journaling and working on my crafts. It’s amazing how much our brains can change when we steer it in the right direction.

As I continue to live my goal is to continue to change my perspective on life. To enjoy the small things and to really embrace any change that can occur. Making sure to take charge of the things I can change and for those things I can’t change, learning to let them be. Shifting perspective enables me specifically to be content with my life and where it’s heading. Knowing that if I put in work everything will work out the way that it should.
