The first alarm sounds and is immediately snoozed then snoozed seven more times. Then finally she rises to greet the day. The seasons are changing and the sun has not yet shown its beautiful face which makes it harder for her to leave her cozy bed. Before starting the day she has to get the word in. She takes a few moments to read through her bible, then she plants her feet on the floor ready to conquer the day. Because the alarm was snoozed too many times there isn’t much room for lolly-gagging. To make the day feel more productive she puts on athletic wear in hopes it will motivate her to make it to the gym later. Hair is brushed back into a nice, neat bun and now she can get to work. Luckily it’s a work from home day and the commute only consists of turning on the computer and logging in.
A new obsession has been making fresh fruit juice. Steps include, pealing and chopping, apples, carrots, kiwi and squeezing fresh lemon into a blender. Blending the ingredients, filtering out the pulp then finally the juice is ready to be poured into a container and enjoyed.
Recently work has been busy. It’s the end of the fiscal year and its auditing season. Work spilled over from the previous day so immediately she is having to play catch up before a meeting with her boss and a co-worker. By diligently working without any distractions she gets caught up. Now, it’s time for the meeting. A meeting that shouldn’t be too long or daunting except her coworker has a particular skill of being able to get on her nerves. The coworker always thinks that she is right, will cut people off to say the same exact thing and honestly just doesn’t know how to let anyone else take the lead. Thankfully there were only one to two minor annoyances and then it was over. Then the real work begins seven hours of non-stop work. But that’s ok because everything got done.
The clock strikes 4:30PM and the lap top can be shut for the day. Now this is her personal time to doomscroll and check all the apps. Hinge was going off and she was liked by a handsome man from the UK. During her post-work walk she gets on the phone with the lad. The conversation was going well until he revealed that he is an atheist. Major respect to that but not her cup of tea. Saved by her best friend she is able to hang up the phone with the lad from the UK and gossip with her girl. While chatting she cooks up her odd dinner of rice and peas, ground turkey and mushrooms with kale. All to be combined in a bowl with taziki sauce. Right after hanging up the phone with her BFF her bother calls. This is the daily check-in between the two, the call doesn’t last very long. But by the time the phone call ends the food is cold. The bowl goes into the microwave, is zapped and now it’s time for dinner. Sitting down with Harry Potter she enjoys her meal.
Like a good adult in the matrix after dinner she washes her dishes, cleans the kitchen, takes out the trash and gets ready for her night time routine. Shower, write and time for bed.
