I actually hated the saying “take time for yourself”. It always made me think of some lonely girl that keeps getting her heart broken and doesn’t actually love herself. I guess I hated it because it was how I was before. After I took away the shame of being alone I discovered myself. I stopped trying to put all my happiness and worth in a partner. And put my happiness and worth into myself.

Loving myself has been one of the hardest tasks I have ever done. Mostly because I have to understand my flaws and know that they aren’t flaws they are what make me unique.

The topic of self love has always been so icky to me. Because the only time it’s brought up is when a breakup happens, or when trying to build up confidence. And who wants to be told they have a low self confidence. After taking my head out of the dirt and took a shot at taking time for myself I have learned and still learning the things that make me happy, the things that make me sad and gave me the ability to walk away from people and scenarios that are no longer serving me.

Time being alive is relatively short and I want to enjoy every aspect of myself. even if that means pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
